Manhyia Palace has officially announced the appointment of a new Board of Directors for Asante Kotoko Sporting Club, marking a significant administrative step aimed at strengthening the governance of the Ghana Premier League giants.
In a press release dated February 27, 2026, the Office of the Asantehene confirmed that His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has constituted a new board to oversee the affairs of the club.
The newly appointed board will be chaired by Mr. James Osei Brown, Chief Executive Officer of Josbob Construction, with Mr. Kwasi Osei Ofori, CEO of Rocksure, serving as Vice-Chairman. Also named on the board is Mr. Kofi Amoa-Abban, Founder and Chief Executive of Rigworld Group.
According to the statement, the new board is expected to immediately assume its statutory oversight responsibilities. However, the club’s Interim Management Committee (IMC) will continue handling day-to-day management duties until the end of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season.
The Chief of Staff at Manhyia Palace, Mr. Kofi Badu, presided over a meeting where the new board members were formally introduced to the interim management team. He urged all parties to work collaboratively to ensure a smooth transition period.
Speaking during the meeting, incoming Chairman James Osei Brown reaffirmed the board’s commitment to elevating Asante Kotoko to greater heights and encouraged management to intensify efforts during the remaining matches of the season.

IMC Chairman Nana Akwasi Awuah Apinkrah welcomed the new leadership and pledged the full support of the interim management team as the club transitions into its new administrative structure.
The appointment signals a renewed effort by Manhyia Palace to reinforce stability and strategic direction at Asante Kotoko as the club continues its push for success both on and off the pitch.
