Portuguese top-flight club Vitória Guimarães have completed the signing of Ghana defender Gideon Mensah on a season-long loan, SPORTSworldGhana.com can report.
He makes the loan move after SPORTS WORLD GHANA exclusively reported last week that a deal had been struck between the Portuguese side and parent club Red Bull Salzburg after an attempt to sign him by FC Porto failed to materialize.
The former WAFA star is joining Guimarães until the end of the 2020/2021 season from Austrian powerhouse Red Bull Salzburg.
The Black Stars left-back had an impressive stint last season with Belgian top-flight side Waasland Beveren when he joined them on loan.
Mensah, 22, made 23 caps in all competitions for Beveren with three assists to his name.
The budding defender has featured two times for the Black Stars after making his debut in October 2019 during the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifications against South Africa in Cape Coast.
