South Africa top-flight side, Orlando Pirates has officially confirmed the signing of Ghanaian youngster Kwame Peprah.
The Ghana international was believed to have penned a deal with the South African giants last weekend and only confirmation and unveiling was left.
Peprah joins Pirates on three-year deal following a standout performance in the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League, where he held his side escape relegation.
Earlier this month King Faisal owner, Alhaji Grusah confirmed in an interview with Angel FM that the 20-year-old has completed to the Buccaneers in a deal worth $150,000, and Pirates have gone to make the signing official ahead of the start of the new season.
A statement on the club’s official website on Thursday read: Orlando Pirates Football Club is pleased to announce the signing of two players – Olisah Ndah, who joins from newly crowned Nigerian Premier League champions Akwa United and Kwame Peprah from King Faisal Football Club in Ghana.
Olisa Ndah is a 23-year-old defender who joins the Mighty Buccaneers having formed part of an Akwa United squad that lifted its maiden Nigerian Premier League title last season. The towering central defender was widely regarded as one of the finest players in the Nigerian Premier League last season.
Peprah on the hand, is a striker who joins having had a stellar individual season for the Babes, as the club is affectionately known. The Ghanaian produced a goal tally return of 12 goals and 10 assists in his 29 appearances for his club this past season.
Speaking about the signings, club administrator Floyd Mbele said: “We are proud to announce the signings of Olisah and Kwame. I would like to personally thank both Akwa United and King Faisal Football Club for the professional manner that they handled these transactions.”
The hardworking forward, netted twelve goals and provided 10 assists in 29 appearances in the just ended Ghana Premier League as King Faisal beat the drop on the final day.
