Ghanaian midfielder Brendan Nana Akwasi Sarpong-Wiredu has dedicated Colchester United’s English League 2 victory against Carlisle United to the supporters of the club.
The 21-year old attacking midfield who joined Colchester during the winter transfer starred for the club to help them record a 2-1 win over Carlisle United on Tuesday night.
Jon Mellish opened the scoring for the visitors after 29 minutes played but Callum Harriott struck at the break in the 69th minute to restore parity for Colchester from the spot.
In the 74th minute, Callum Harriott hit the back of the net to give the hosts a 2 -1 win at the Colchester Community Stadium.
Meanwhile, his compatriots Michael Folivi replaced Miles Welch-Hayes in the 68th-minute mark of the game while Kwame Poku lasted the full duration for Colchester United.
Wiredu after the game took to social media to dedicate the home victory to the fans who watched the game at home.
