Colchester United manager Steve Ball has lauded the signing of Ghanaian midfielder Brendan Sarpong-Wiredu, describing as a superb athlete with a strong engine.
Wiredu Sarpong on Monday joined Colchester United on a permanent deal for an undisclosed fee after parting ways with Charlton Athletic.
Speaking after the Ghanaian international’s capture, manager Steve Ball said: “He is a superb athlete with a strong engine, and his qualities as a footballer will benefit us without a doubt.
“He’s still at a great age for development, but we already know he can perform in a number of positions across midfield and defence.”
Brendan has signed a contract that runs until the summer of 2022, subject to the usual approvals from relevent bodies, and it is hoped that he will be eligible for the trip to Salford on Tuesday.
