Colchester United midfielder Brendan Wiredu maintains that they have to back up in their away games if they are to secure League 1 qualification.
Wiredu reiterated that it is important for the “U’s” to always strive hard to get away points if they are to make it to the third tier.
“If we’re to achieve the stuff we want to achieve this season and what we can achieve, we’ve already identified that we have to do better at home.” Wiredu told Gazette
“I think everyone knows that.”
“We went away to Barrow and got an excellent victory but teams that get promoted win games on the bounce.”
“If we want to get promoted, we need to win these games at home.”
“It’s football and everyone knows that one week can be excellent and the second week can be a poor week.”
“Personally, I think we should have got more out of the game but everyone can question, did we do enough to get more out of the game?” he added.
Wiredu has played six games so far this season as Colchester sir 16th on the league log with nine points from eight matches.
