Brighton and Hoven Albion and England U21 right-back, Tariq Lamptey, is set to return for his side Premier League game against Fulham on Wednesday night.
Tariq Lamptey suffered a hamstring injury which saw him excluded from the squad that faced Leicester City in their 3-0 loss over the weekend at the King Power Stadium.
The Ghanaian international has been a key figure for the Seagulls after completing his transfer from Chelsea during the January transfer.
According to the Seagulls gaffer, the technical team did not want to risk playing Lamptey on Sunday due to the nature of his injury.
He said: “We will see, this one just probably came a bit too soon.
“We just want to make sure he was fully recovered.
“He was feeling a bit of a sensation on his hamstring, so we decided to err on the side of caution because of the nature of it.
“But we are hopeful he will be back for Wednesday.”
Lamptey has been involved in 10 Premier League games with 1 assist and 1 goal for his club. He scored his first and only goal against Tottenham Hotspur last month.
The 20-year old’s exciting start of the season has caught the eye of top-flight clubs- like Atletico Madrid and Bayern Munich, across Europe who are all chasing the signature of the right full-back.
He is currently on the wish list of Black Star Coach, C.K Akonnor, who hopes to convince the young player to switch nationality to represent Ghana at the international level.
