English Premier League team Brighton and Hove Albion manager, Graham Potter says Ghanaian youngster Tariq Lamptey is set to return from injury soon.
The Blue and Whites head coach Graham Potter gave a positive update on the fitness of Tariq Lamptey at during the team’s Fans’ Forum last night.
The 20-year-old defender hasn’t played since last December after suffering a serious hamstring injury in a goalless draw against Fulham.
Lamptey has been working his way back to full fitness in recent weeks and Potter hopes he may be available again before the end of the month.
He said, “Tariq played in an internal 11 v 11 game on Tuesday for 20 minutes and came through fine, he did really well.
“Without putting a definite time scale on it, there’s a possibility he could be involved in the Carabao Cup game against Swansea City on 22 September.”
Potter also confirmed that striker Jurgen Locadia was back training in the senior squad. The 27-year-old forward returned to the club after spending 15 months on loan with MLS club Cincinnati.
The forum, which was also attended by chairman Tony Bloom and deputy chairman and chief executive Paul Barber, answered questions from fans on a wide range of topics during an hour long discussion which was live on BBC Sussex.
