Bring Back Your Confidence – Frimpong Manso tells Kotoko players

A string of unimpressive results in the last three matches of the on-going 2016/17 Premier League, coupled with supporters’ high demands for an immediate reversal of the team’s fortunes, have upset the earlier on calm hearts at Kotoko.

However, newly appointed technical adviser, Frimpong Manso says, the club is no crisis to warrant any fears. He hopes to help halt the recent decline in performance as he is urging the players to work on their confidence and give nothing but their best in the remaining matches.

Frimpong Manso said the players were capable of turning around the fortunes of the club if they would keep their focus and work harder than they have done. “Not much has changed in the technical team with the exception of the head coach, who is gone. The rest are all old faces. With their help, we will try to turn things around. I don’t see any problem here” said the former Kotoko stalwart defender as he addressed the players earlier this week.

“It’s the confidence and the pressure the fans put on the team that have created the things we have seen. It prevents players from exhibiting their talents because they fear making mistakes” said Frimpong Manso, whose son is Edwin Tuffour Frimpong. “We should try to bring back all the things that will please the fans. You’ve to be yourself. Try and do what you want to do and do it well” he added.

“Seek clarification on anything you don’t understand before, during or after a match. The fixtures are tight but it’s good if you can push through at this time. Everyone must get back his self-confidence. I’m coming to work with you as a father” he assured.
