Austrian Bundesliga side WSG Swarovski Tirol has confirmed the signing of German – born Ghanaian left-back Kofi Schulz, Sportsworldghana.com can confirm.
The 32-year-old is moving from the second division St. Pölten to to join the Green and Whites outfit for the remainder of the season with an option to extend the contract.
Born in Berlin with Ghanaian roots, Kofi Schultz was trained as a youth by Hertha BSC Berlin and has already worked in Germany (KFC Ürdingen), Switzerland (Biel-Bienne, St. Gallen and Winterthur), Greece (Apollon Smyrnis) and Austria (SKU Amstetten) made a stop, was last in action at SKN St. Pölten.
With the Lower Austrians, the left-back made 41 Bundesliga appearances getting 3522 minutes under his belt.
He also scored four goals and provided eight assists. WSG fans still have fond memories of Kofi Schulz. His last-minute goal against Hartberg secured the Tyroleans the starting place in the championship group last year.
