African football powerhouse Al Ahly continue to assert their dominance on the continent, leading the latest CAF 5-Year Rankings with an impressive 78 points.
The Egyptian giants have consistently performed in both the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup, reinforcing their reputation as the most successful club in African football history.
South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns sit second with 57 points, tied with Tunisian side Esperance Sportive de Tunis, who occupy third place due to tiebreaker metrics. Both clubs have maintained a strong presence in CAF competitions, regularly reaching the knockout stages and competing at the highest level.
Tanzania’s Simba SC continue their rise in African football, breaking into the top four with 43 points — the highest-ranking East African club in recent years. Their consistent qualification and strong performances in the Champions League have made them a force in the region.
Morocco’s RS Berkane (42 points) and Zamalek SC of Egypt (42 points) follow closely in fifth and sixth positions, respectively. Former Champions League winners Wydad AC sit in seventh with 39 points, while another Egyptian outfit, Pyramids FC, comes in at eighth with 37 points, tied with USM Alger of Algeria.
CR Belouizdad, also from Algeria, round out the top ten with 36 points, completing a list heavily dominated by North African clubs, reflecting the region’s continued investment and competitive edge in continental football.
