Head coach of Sudanese side Al-Hilal, Irad Zaafouri says he remains optimistic of his side’s chances as they prepare to host giants Asante Kotoko on matchday One of the 2018/19 CAF Confederation Cup on Sunday.
The twenty-seven times champions of Sudan bounced back from their first defeat of the season in the Sudan Premier League against Merreikh Al- Fasher to defeat Al-Ahli Shendi on the road by 1-0 on Monday and Zaafouri cannot hide his delight after this big win five days ahead of the crunch duel against Ghana’s Kotoko.
“The match had greatly contributed to the mentality of the players for the upcoming African confrontation against Kotoko.” said the Tunisian gaffer.
“There was more than one player shining during the course of the match and that is positive.” he concluded.
Team Kotoko leaves Ghana for Sudan on Thursday via Kenya Airways.
