Asante Kotoko defender Emmanuel Agyeman Badu is confident of his side’s chances ahead of the second leg clash of the CAF Confederations Cup play-offs against Coton Sports de Garoua.
Coton Sport of Garoua suffered a shock 2-3 defeat to Asante Kotoko of Ghana in a five-goal thriller at the Military Stadium on Sunday.
Two goals from Daouda Kamilou (penalty), Gueme Araina for Coton Sport; and three by Kotoko’s Emmanuel Gyamfi, Maxwell Baakoh, Abdul Fatawu have now put the Ghanaian club in good position to make it to the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup.
“We came here knowing it would be a tough game, but the realities on the field were different. We had an easier than expected ride and it gives us more motivation to prepare for the return leg at home. It’s true no two games are the same but we have a great chance of moving to the next stage,” he said after the game in Yaounde.
The return leg is slated for next week Sunday at the Baba Yara Stadium.
