Aduana Stars beat Algerian giants ES Setif 1-0 in the first leg of their CAF Champions League second round at the Nana Agyemang Badu II Park on Wednesday afternoon.
Sam Adams second 74th minute penalty goal was all that Yusif Abubakar’s side needed to record a slim advantage heading back to Algeria for the reverse leg.
Adams beautifully converted the penalty to get the only goal in the thrilling clash after midfielder Zakaria Mumuni weaved his magic to draw a rash challenge which resulted in a foul in the box.
Ivorian referee Denis Dembele pointed to the spot and Aduana duly took full advantage.
The Ogya lads after the goal started piling more pressure on the visitors in their quest to score more goals but their effort failed to get them any extra goal ending the match one nil to their credit.
Aduana will have it all to do in the second leg which is in 10 days.
