The striker claims the miners have what it takes to progress in the Caf inter-club competition ahead of the first leg clash against the North African club.

AshantiGold SC captain Shafiu Mumuni is confident R.S Berkane will fall on Saturday in the Caf Confederation Cup.

The Ghanaian giants will host Moroccan side R.S Berkane at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium in the second round of the Caf Confederation Cup first leg and the Black Stars ‘B’ striker has predicted a heavy victory for his club.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with SportsworldGhana.com ahead of the epic clash, he said ” We the playing body are aware that the game won’t be that easy therefore we are preparing very well to ensure we beat
R.S Berkane massively like we did to Akonangui FC in other not for us to struggle in the reverse leg in Morocco,”

He further stated that the players have been very busy responding to head coach Ricardo Da Rocha’s tactics in a bid to end the North African club’s dominance over Ghanaian clubs in Obuasi.

”People always say that Ghanaian clubs always struggle to beat these North African clubs but I can tell you that our coach is taking us through some intensive tactical training and we the players are responding positively to that.

”AshantiGold SC is ready and fully prepared to eliminate R.S Berkane but first we have to beat them convincingly in the first leg in Obuasi before we travel to Morocco to seal qualification in the return leg.

AshantiGold SC, beat Equatorial Guinea side Akonangui FC 4-1 on aggregate before sealing passage to the next phase of the Caf Confederation Cup to face R.S Berkane.

Shafiu Mumuni who captained his side in the two games scored a beautiful hat-trick in the reverse leg in Obuasi within fifteen minutes in the first half to grab qualification for the ‘super boys’.
