Al Masry made it two wins from two games with a hard-fought 3-2 win in Zambia against ZESCO United. Hashem, Temine and Deghmoum scored the three goals for the Egyptians while Kouablan and Musukuma were on the score sheet for ZESCO.

Azam was narrowly piped by Wydad of Morocco 1-0 in Tanzania. Veteran Amrabat’s second-half strike made the difference as the Moroccans made it two wins out of two matches. It was Azam’s second defeat in the group stages.

USM Alger won 1-0 in Morocco against Olympique de Safi with Zakaria Draoui scoring the winner in the 84th minute.

The surprise result of the weekend was Otoho d’Oyo of the Congo Republic’s 4-1 smashing of Belouizdad. Goals from Bowanda, Diallo and Duvan helped the home side to take a 3-1 lead within 30 minutes. Dion Ravelli’s 65th-minute goal was Otoho d’Oyo’s fourth, which condemned Belouizdad to an embarrassing defeat in Central Africa.

Kaizer Chiefs drew 1-1 against Zamalek in South Africa at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg. Mohamed Sobhi’s 96th minutebequaliser broke the Egyptians’ heart after they took the lead in the 3rd minute through Jaziri’s strike.

Mboma Kinda’s second half goal helped Maniema record an important 1-0 win Kenya against Nairobi United.

Singida Black Stars in Tanzania shared the spoil with South African side Stellenbosch. The home side equalized in the 91st minute through Tchakei’s penalty after Phili had given the South Africans 52nd minute lead.

San Pedro defeated Stade Malien 2-0 in the all West African affair. Dramane Kagamate’s brace in the 21st and 29th minutes were enough to condemn the Malians to defeat.
