Matchday 2 of the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup group stage delivered late drama, resilient defensive displays and significant early shifts across all four groups as clubs continued their push for continental momentum.

Wydad and Maniema stayed perfect in Group B, Otoho issued the loudest statement of the round with a four-goal show in Group C, while USM Alger maintained their flawless start in Group A.

In Group D, Kaizer Chiefs rescued a last-gasp point to keep the section wide open behind early leaders Al Masry.

Below is the full group-by-group breakdown of all the action.

Group A – USM Alger strengthen grip as San Pedro rise

USM Alger tightened their hold on Group A with a disciplined 1–0 away victory over Olympique de Safi, sealed by Zakaria Draoui’s clinical 84th-minute finish after sustained second-half pressure.

The result sends the Algerians to six points from two matches and marks their second straight clean sheet.

Earlier in the weekend, San Pedro revived their campaign with a confident 2–0 home win over Djoliba.

Two first-half goals ensured the Ivorians bounced back strongly from their opening-day defeat and moved level with Safi on three points.

Maniema Union kept pace with Wydad thanks to a cagey but crucial 1–0 win over Nairobi United in Kasarani.

Jaency Mboma Kinda’s 67th-minute near-post finish settled a tight contest, leaving the Congolese side level with the Moroccan giants on six points.

Group C – Otoho’s four-goal show stuns Belouizdad as Stellenbosch keep momentum

AS Otoho d’Oyo produced one of the performances of the campaign so far, dismantling CR Belouizdad 4–1 in Brazzaville. A blistering first-half display saw Jacques Bowamba, Bandiougou Diallo and Gosim Duvan put the Congolese side firmly in control before Dion Ravelli added a fourth after the interval. Belouizdad reduced the deficit through an 81st-minute penalty, but the damage had long been done.

Stellenbosch secured an important point in Tanzania, drawing 1–1 with Singida Black Stars after both sides traded first-half goals. The South Africans remain unbeaten and stay firmly in the qualification race.

Al Masry remained in command of Group D after a thrilling 3–2 away victory over ZESCO United. The Egyptians twice led and were forced to withstand heavy pressure late on, but held firm to move to six points from two matches.

Zamalek were seconds away from joining them at the summit before Kaizer Chiefs snatched a dramatic 1–1 draw at FNB Stadium. Seifeddine Jaziri’s early opener looked to be enough for the visitors, who managed the game expertly for long spells. But Chiefs’ persistence paid off deep into stoppage time when Silva struck in the 90+6 minute to secure a valuable point.
