Zesco United striker Rahim Osmanu has signaled a warning to Asante Kotoko, stating the Porcupine Warriors will not survive in their hands when they both meet in the match-day two of the CAF Confederation Cup later today.
The 23-year-old lanky attacker reveals the Zambian side are really prepared to upset the Ghanaian giants at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Wednesday.
Kotoko will be hoping to record their first victory in the group stage after losing narrowly to Sudanese side Al Hi Hilal to brighten their chances of securing qualification to the next phase of the competition but Osmanu insists the Zambians club have come to silence Kotoko at the presence of their vociferous fans.
“It will not be an easy game but we can’t afford to drop points tomorrow against Kotoko,” Osmanu told Kickgh.com after Tuesday’s training at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
“Kotoko is a big club in Africa as well as Zesco United. They [Kotoko] can’t be underrated on any day despite losing their first match
[against Al Hilal in Sudan]
.
“We’re hoping to beat them in Kumasi tomorrow to silence them before they travel to Zambia to face us in the return leg encounter. He added.
“We’re two Ghanaian players at Zesco United. We’ll be glad to see our countrymen supporting us during the match.”
Osmanu is rated as one of the top strikers in the Zambian top-flight league.
