The football calendar is fully packed especially with the introduction of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup set to be played in the USA in June-July next year.

CAF had planned initially to stage the AFCON 2025 in the summer of 2025 but with the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup set to be played in the same period, it has made it extremely difficult for CAF to fix the competition at that time.

CAF is finding it difficult as the tournament cannot be held in August 2025 because most of the leagues across the world, especially Europe will commence.

The best and most favourable time for CAF to schedule the tournament in Morocco will be in January- February of 2026.

The indecisiveness within CAF is making things a bit tougher for African Football.
