Ghana’s Black Meteors coach Ibrahim Tanko says his side played a great game against Egypt although they loss at the end.
Ghana suffered an embarrassing 3-2 defeat to the host nation after twice taking the lead in a thrilling contested at the Cairo International Stadium on Monday night.
The loss thus leaves Black Meteors with no choice but to beat Mali in the final Group A game and hope that Egypt do them a favour by beating Cameroon in the corresponding fixture.
“We played a great game but lost in the end, this is football. I congratulate Egypt on qualifying. We will play to win against Mali and hope for a favorable result from Egypt match against Cameroon,” Tanko said after the game.
Tanko’s side were held to a 1-1 draw against Cameroon in their first game of the competition.
The top three teams will qualify to Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
