Black Meteors goalkeeper Richmond Ayi is optimistic of his side’s victory against Cameroon in the opening game of the Caf U23 championship in Egypt.
Ghana will play Cameroon on Friday in their group opening game on Friday at exactly 7pm local time.
Coach Ibrahim Tanko’s side are pooled in Group A alongside hosts Egypt, Cameroon and Mali.
Speaking in an interview with SportsworldGhana.com exclusively ahead of Friday’s crucial clash against Cameroon, the Accra Hearts of Oak shot stopper said remained confident his side will beat Cameroon on Friday to brighten their Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games qualification chances.
” The target that we as a team have set for ourselves is to break the 15-years jinx of not qualifying to the Olympic Games and this time make it to Tokyo 2020,” said Ayi.
He added ”Before we will be able to do that I think we will need to win against Cameroon on Friday first before we tackle the other game with winning mentality.
”I am confident we will beat Cameroon on Friday to make the entire Ghanaians proud,”
