Asante Kotoko have been drawn against 9 times Congolese champions, Club Athlétique Renaissance Aiglon (CARA) in the CAF Confederations Cup preliminary round qualifier.
The first leg will be played between the weekends of 9-11 of February 2018 with the second leg slated for the weekend of 20-21 February 2018.

The 2017 Ghana MTN FA Cup Champions will host their Congolese counterparts in Kumasi between the weekends of 9-11 of February 2018 before travelling to Congo for the reverse leg between 20-21 February 2018 at Stade Alphonse Massemba-Débat.
If Kotoko progress to the second round, they will be up against the winner of Ben Guerdane of Tunisia and Al Hilal Juba of South Sudan.
Asante Kotoko, who qualified to the CAF Confederation Cup by virtue of their FA Cup triumph, are making a return to continental club football since their first round exit in the CAF Champions League in 2015.
