Cardiff City boss Mick McCarthy has explained why English-born Ghanaian defender Jordi Osei-Tutu did not play for the under-23s against QPR on Tuesday afternoon.
McCarthy stated last week that the Arsenal loanee will have to play two games for Steve Morison’s side before coming back into the reckoning for the senior set-up as he nears full fitness.
Osei-Tutu howeve was nor on the bench in the Under 23 clash with QPR and McCarthy has revealed that it was an order from his parent club.
“Arsenal didn’t want him to play against QPR and I understand.” McCarthy told Walesonline
“They are being cautious with him because he is their player and that is all we can do.”
“The plan was for us to play him next week at Birmingham.” He added.
Osei Tutu, 22, has not played for Cardiff City for a month now due to a leg injury.
