Carlos Lozano Romero has been reappointed as the Team Physiotherapist for the Black Stars ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, reinforcing the medical department of Ghana’s national team.
Lozano previously worked with the Black Stars during Ghana’s 2022 FIFA World Cup campaign in Qatar, gaining invaluable experience in managing players’ fitness, injury prevention, and recovery in high-pressure international competitions.
His return ensures continuity within the team, with familiarity of the squad and proven professionalism expected to benefit both players and coaching staff.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) confirmed that Lozano’s appointment is part of a series of technical reinforcements for the 2026 World Cup, following its tradition of strengthening the Black Stars’ support staff whenever the country qualifies for major tournaments.
Working alongside Head Coach Otto Addo and the rest of the technical team, Lozano will play a key role in keeping players physically prepared, optimising performance, and contributing to Ghana’s goal of making a strong impact on the global stage this summer.
