Former Southampton star Carlton Palmer has urged the club to sign Ghanaian international Jeffery Schlupp this summer.
Ryan Bertrand is leaving St. Mary’s Park next month and Palmer has encouraged the club to go in for Schlupp as replacement as his contract with Crystal Palace us also expiring on June 30.
“Yeah, obviously. I mean, there’s no risk, is there? There’s no risk.” Palmer told TIF in relations to the possible signing of Schlupp by Southampton
“Left-backs are hard to come by, left-footed left-backs who can play are hard to come by. It’s very, very difficult.
“Losing Bertrand, you know, it will be a problem for them.” He added.
Schlupp, 28, has made over 170 English Premiership positions and can play everywhere across the field.
