West African minnows, Niger beat the Intermediate of Cameroon to set up all west Africa quarter final clash against the Black Galaxies team of Ghana on Saturday evening.

The Cameroonians needed just a point to seal qualification to the next stage of the 2022 CHAN tournament ongoing in Algeria when they took on fellow West Africa country.

The first 45 minutes of the match produced fireworks from both teams though they failed to find the back of the net in opening half.

In the second half of the match, the Nugeriens upped their game and started dominating the game with good passages of play.

Finally, their efforts got rewarded when Ousseini Badamassi’s free-kick deflected into the back of the net to give his team a deserving but lucky lead.

Cameroon tried all they could and created a lot of good opportunities but failed to make it count as they bowed out of the competition at the group stages despite winning their first game.

Niger won the game 1-0 and will take on the Black Galaxies of Ghana in the quarter-final on Saturday evening.
