Berekum Chelsea needed an 80th minute winner from captain Stephen Amankona to defeat Legon Cities at the Nana Agyeman Badu Park on Sunday.
The game was heading towards a 1-1 draw at full time until Amankona scored a brilliant goal in the 80th minute to win the game 2-1 for Chelsea who played as the home team.
Bright Amponsah scored first for the 2011 Ghana champions but Hans Kwoffi equalized for Legon in the 76th minute with a good header from a corner kick.
The two teams neutralized each other after the first two goals until the match winner from the Chelsea skipper.
The win takes Berekum Chelsea to 8th position on the league standings whereas Legon are 15th placed just a place above the relegation zone.
