Ghana’s head coach, CK Akonnor has handed nine home-based players call-up into the Black Stars squad ahead of AFCON qualifying matches this month.
The Ghana gaffer ahead of the CAF AFCON Qualifiers games against South Africa and Sao Tome and Principe have included three goalkeepers and six outfield players in his 26-man squad.
The list of the nine players includes, Kumasi Asante Kotoko SC goalkeeper, Razak Abalora, Tarkwa-based Medeama SC captain, Eric Ofori Antwi and newly signed Kumasi King Faisal FC and U-20 shot stopper, Ibrahim Danlad.
Outfield players like, Kotoko’s defender, Ganiu Ismeal, Division One League side, Steadfast FC youngster, Issahaku Abdul Fatawu and outgoing Kotoko striker Opoku are all included in the squad.
Midfield-anchor, Gladson Awako of Accra Great Olympics is also among the home-based players in the squad with Dreams FC duo, Joseph Esso and Philimon Baffour completing the list of nine players plying their trade in the domestic league.
