Former Asante Kotoko and Black Meteors coach, Malik Jabir, has urged Black Stars coach Charles Kwablan Akunnor to be ‘mentally strong’ and oppose any influence by the country’s football governing body’s hierarchy.
Speaking in an interview with Kumasi FM, the legendary attacker advised the former Ghana captain to always be strong and work strictly according to the Ethics of his profession.
Akonnor is currently preparing the Black Stars for the 2021 Cup of Nations qualifiers against South Africa and Sao Tome later this month.
“When you are appointed as the coach, you must act like a one,” he said
“He must take players that he thinks can help his course and drop those who cannot help achieve his target,”he added.

The former Asante Kotoko and Ghana legend encouraged the former Wolfsburg skipper to also be firm with his decision and not to dance to the tune of the Football Association simply because they hired.
“If the Football Association (GFA) wants to sack him for being firm on his decisions then so be it.”
