The Executive Chairman of Asante Kotoko, Dr Kwame Kyei has reaffirmed that CK Akunnor has his total backing to succeed at the club.
The former Black Stars Captain has come under pressure despite powering the Porcupine Warriors to the group stage of the 2018/2019 African inter-clubs competitions for the first time in 11 years.
Rife reports in the Ghanaian media earlier this week claimed the former Ashgold nearly quit the club ahead of the Nkana clash due to the interference of the management and baseless criticisms from the supporters.
But Dr. Kwame Kyei has assured the former Ashanti Gold SC gaffer of his massive support regardless of the fans rude behaviour.
“We all sit together and sometimes deliberate on issues with George Amoakoh and we all arrive at final conclusion,” he told Asempa FM.
“I am calling the media to support the club because this is the time we have to come together.
“I don’t need to tell the world because he [CK Akunnor] knows that and I am really impressed with the working he doing.
Kotoko will be host Sudanese side Al Hilil on Sunday at the Baba Yara Stadium in their matchday five on the Caf Confederation Cup.
Akonnor and his charges will be seeking revenge on the side that defeated them 1-0 in the first leg in Sudan despite the absence of injured players, Richard Senanu, Maxwell Baakoh and life wire Emmanuel Gyamfi.
