Cody Gakpo ‘proud’ to captain PSV for the first time in big win against Galatasaray SK

Dutch striker of Ghanaian descent Cody Gakpo, has expressed excitement for leading PSV as a captain for the very first time in win against Turkish giants Galatasaray.

The Dutch side have taken a big step to the next preliminary round of the Champions League with a commanding 5-1 win over Galatasaray SK at the Philips Stadium.

With three goals and an assist, Eran Zahavi played the leading role. Mario Götze accounted for the other two goals.

Gakpo,22, was introduced in the game in the second half and made his first minutes as captain.

The striker showed himself immediately afterwards. After a quick dribble he came up with a shooting opportunity. However, the pressure of the Turkish defense blocked the shot.

The player couldn’t hide his joy after the game as he took to social media to to express more excited for wearing the arm band for his club for the first time.
