Youngster Kwame Poku Afriyie Adubofour played his first game for Ghana on Sunday as the Black Stars defeated Sao Tome by three goals to one in a 2021 AFCON Group C qualifier at the Accra Stadium.

The English-born central midfielder replaced Mohammed Kudus getting to the dying embers of the game and exhibited some superb touches as Ghana won by three goals to one.

Nicholas Opoku and Jordan Ayew game Ghana a 2-0 first-half lead before Baba Rahman netted the third in the 60th minute.

Fernandes Carvalho reduced the deficit for the Islanders later on in the game after a howler from Black Stars keeper Razak Abalora.

Ghana topped Group C with 13 points after four wins, one draw and one defeat.

The 19-year-old replaced Ajax star Mohammed Kudus as the West African powerhouse proved too strong for their opponents.

The English League two-star lasted few minutes on the pitch at the Accra Sports stadium but will look for more opportunities in future.
