Former Asante Kotoko Goalkeeper Isaac Amoako believes complacency is causing his former club more harm than good in the ongoing Caf Confederation Cup competition.
The veteran goalie argues that the Porcupine Warriors had a fine opportunity to at least pick a point in their away game against Nkana FC in Kitwe but failed to do so as a result of complacency.
The defensive pair of Abdul Ganiu and Agyeman Badu failed to sparkle and fell prey to the attacking machinery of Nkana FC as they lost 3-1 on Sunday.
Amoako, who served the Porcupine Warriors for a decade is displeased with the poor performance of his former club in Kitwe.
He therefore wants the playing body to do away with complacency and approach all remaining matches in the competition with equal seriousness in their quest to secure qualification to the semis.
“I was with the conviction that something good was going to come out of the Nkana game but that game proved to be worse so far. ” Amoako told Sunyani based Space FM.
“Football is a team work and it consist of departments, all the departments comes together in forming a team and if a department or a single member of a department is not functioning well, it affects the entire set up.
“There are some little lapses in the team especially the defense and it’s causing the team but I believe complacency is the cause of these defensive blunders” He added.
