Ghana coach Milovan Rajevac won’t announce replacements for Ajax star Mohammed Kudus and AS Roma youngster Felix Afena-Gyan in the Black Stars, according to Director of Communications Henry Asante Twum.
Eredivisie Champions Ajax Amsterdam have refused to release attacking midfielder Mohammed Kudus to join the West African powerhouse for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations tournament.
The Four-time African Champions have already been affected by the unavailability of AS Roma teen striker Felix Afena-Gyan, meaning the absence of Kudus would automatically reduce Ghana’s squad to 28.
Nonetheless, Director of Communications at the Ghana FA, Henry Asante Twum has indicated that the Serbian won’t name replacements for the two players.
“There has been no discussions or plans to name replacements for the two players,” he told Enoch Worlanyo on Asempa FM’s SportsNite.
Nine players have so far reported to the Black Stars camp in Doha, Qatar.
The nine players are: Richard Atta, Lawrence Ati Zigi, Alexander Djiku, Mubarak Wakaso, David Abagna, Daniel Kofi Kyereh, Gideon Mensah, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku and Maxwell Abbey Quaye.
