Four players and four officials of Asante Kotoko have tested positive for COVID-19 after the team arrived in Ghana from Sudan, the club has announced.
According to the club, the players and officials are currently self-isolating with the rest of the team in camp preparing for their next Ghana Premier League game.
The Ghanaian giants were kicked out of the CAF Champions League controversially without kicking the ball in the second leg of their match with Al Hilal last Wednesday.
Seven players and four officials were earlier said to have tested positive, making it very difficult for the Porcupine Warriors to assemble the required number for the game in Omdurman.
Twenty hours after the game was called off, Kotoko were eliminated from the competition and have been drawn against Algerian side ES Setif in the CAF Confederation Cup.
