AshantiGold SC Midfielder Conney Idan has mutually terminated his contract with the club.
The former Medeama player has mutually parted ways with AshantiGold following his request after the season.
Idan joined the miners in a two-year contract which was supposed to end in 2018 after the league season, but the contract has been terminated mutually by both parties.
According to him, he had no problem with the Obuasi based club financially, but says he requested for his contract termination following a limited playing time he had during the season.
The former Ghana U23 midfielder was a starter in the early stages of the league before change of coach relegated him to the bench.
”I was worried about my playing time so, I decided to ask the coach about it but the reply was to keep working hard to earn his call up to the final eighteen players for each league game. ”He is quoted by Sportsnewsgh.com.
”Sometimes even training match I wasn’t selected to play that made me felt bad and if I wasn’t fit I will be okay for that but it pains me a lot for such treatment.”
”It got to a time I felt i deserved a place in the team with my good conditioning but I was refused to dress to my teammates.”
Idan was part of Kumasi Asante Kotoko team which participated in the G6 tournament organized by Ghana League Clubs Association at the Kumasi Baba Yara Sports stadium before the start of the season.
The player made 9 caps for the club in the just ended Ghana Premier League season.
