Coventry City FC has announce the signing of Brandon Thomas-Asante from West Bromwich Albion. The 25-year-old striker, who also excels on the wing, has committed to a four-year deal with the Sky Blues.

This transfer follows an undisclosed fee agreement with the Baggies, marking a significant addition to Coventry’s squad.

Thomas-Asante’s journey in professional football began with Milton Keynes Dons. Making his debut at the age of 17 in 2016, he quickly showcased his talent. During his time with Milton Keynes, he gained valuable experience with loan spells at Sutton United and Oxford City. By 2019, he had made 35 appearances for his hometown club.

Following a short stint at Ebsfleet United, Thomas-Asante’s career truly blossomed at Salford City in League Two. Over 126 games, he scored 30 goals and played a crucial role in winning the EFL Trophy. His impressive performances at Salford City caught the attention of West Bromwich Albion, leading to his transfer at the start of the 2022/23 season.

At West Brom, Thomas-Asante continued to excel as a striker. He was the team’s top goalscorer for two consecutive seasons, netting 9 goals in his first season and 12 in the next. In total, he made 78 appearances for the Championship side, proving himself as a reliable and skilled forward.

In addition to his club success, Thomas-Asante has also represented Ghana on the international stage. His versatility, goal-scoring ability, and experience make him a valuable addition to Coventry City as they look forward to the upcoming seasons.

Manager Mark Robins said: “We’re excited to welcome Brandon to Coventry City. “He is a powerful and pacy striker who has goalscoring pedigree at this level plus a great attitude and work-rate.

“Brandon can play across the front line and will further strengthen our attacking options. “We look forward to working with him at Coventry City” he added.
