President of Ghana’s Division One League club Tema Youth SC- Wilfred Osei Palmer has blamed the Ghana Football Association (GFA) for failing to persuade government for the resumption of football activities in Ghana.
The former GFA ExCo member who was disqualified for the 2019 Ghana FA presidency, claims the GFA submitted an empty proposal to government, hence the delay in the resumption of football.
“The proposal the GFA sent to the government to ease restrictions to allow the return of football was empty,’’ he said on Accra-based Angel FM.
“The FA must be glad the proposal was not even looked at,” he added.
Football activities in Ghana were banned in March due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The government have begun easing restrictions but yet to give clearance for the resumption of football in the country.
The GFA though remain optimistic as they have scheduled 2020-21 season for October 31.
