Former Leicester City defender Dennis Gyamfi has joined Croatian Europa League side Dinamo Zagreb this week, SPORTSworldGhana.com can confirm.
The highly-rated 18-year-old right-back has been looking for a new club since his contract with Brendan Rodgers’ side expired at the end of last season.
Gyamfi left the English side when he rejected their offer of a new contract in order to seek new opportunities and regular playing time.
However, the ongoing coronavirus pandemic has led to difficult challenges for young free agents – but Gyamfi’s patience is finally over as he has signed for Dinamo Zagreb.
The Netherlands youth international joins the Croatian giants Dinamo Zagreb, having undergone a medical at the club on Thursday.
Gyamfi will then pen a contract with Dinamo and will certainly have eyes cast towards next week’s Europa League draw, with Dinamo already securing their spot in the knockout stages of the competition.
The promising defender will not have the immediate prospect of a reunion with his former teammates as the two sides will be seeded for the Round of 32 draw, with Dinamo clinching top-spot with a game to spare.
