Crystal Palace fans have taken to Twitter to react in shock as misfiring forward Jordan Ayew scored a rare double for Ghana against Ethiopia on Sunday.
The Ghanaian forward, who is yet to score for the Eagles since arriving on loan from Swansea in the summer, has put in a number of tepid displays at Selhurst Park, often driving fans mad with his lack of attacking intent.
In fairness, the former Aston Villa man works hard and contributes defensively, but his ability to worry opposition defences is severely lacking.
Having scored just eight goals in the league so far this season as a team, Palace fans have been desperate for someone to find the back of the net more regularly, although Ayew’s recent brace has confused them more than delighted them.
The 27-year-old flop is far from a fans’ favourite in south London, especially after he was embarrassingly caught ball watching as Juan Foyth headed home right in front of him in Palace’s 1-0 loss to Spurs.
Let’s take a look at some of the best tweets…
