Jonathan Abbey Pobee, a veteran football administrator, believes former Asante Kotoko coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani, would be controlled by officials of the Ghana football Association if appointed as the new Technical director of the country’s football governing body.
According to him, the FA would need independent people like former Ashantigold SC coach Bashir Hayford, Malik Jabir who wouldn’t succumb to the dictatorship leadership of the Ghana FA to head the office of the FA’s technical director.
Dramani, who is the current transitional head coach of Danish side FC
Nordsjaelland, was been tipped by coach Oti Akenteng to replace him as the new technical of the Ghana FA.
”Coach Didi Dramani would be controlled when appointed as the GFA Technical Director like the previous administration did to Coach Oti Akenteng,” he told Sunyani-based Akonoba FM.
”We need men likes J. E. Sarpong, Prof Mintah, Malik Jabir and Bashir Hayford to take charge of the Technical director role of the Ghana Football Association.
”Coach Oti Akenteng did very well by working with the Mugabes, even Kurt Okraku appointed head coach of the Black Stars without his knowledge,”
The Ghana Football Association, on Monday, announced that six candidates, made up of three Ghanaians and three expatriates, had been shortlisted to undergo interviews, through video conferencing, with a select committee of the GFA.
The Technical Director position became vacant this month following the departure of Mr. Samuel Francis Oti Akenteng whose contract expired at the end of March, 2020.
