Three players from the second tier league in Ghana, Evans Etti, Takyi Welbeck and Andy Kumi Francis have all been invited by the head coach of Ghana CK Akonnor ahead of the 2021 AFCON Qualifiers.
The Black Stars will face South Africa and Sao Tome and Principe in their last two qualifying matches and head coach CK Akonnor have named a 32-man home-based squad to begin preparation for next month’s Africa Cup qualifiers which includes the trio.
Evans Etti of Accra Lions SC in the Zone Three of the Division One League has scored six goals in six matches this season and was the first player in the competition to score in the opening five rounds of games.
Due to his goal scoring prowess, the youngster have been given a chance to prove his worth and justify his inclusion into the senior national team of Ghana.
Former Ghana Premier League side Bofoakwa Tano FC attacker, Takyi Welbeck with six goals in the opening six matches comprising a stupendous hat-trick at Techiman against Techiman City have also been invited by CK Akonnor.
Andy Kumi Francis of Unistar Academy, another hat-trick hero in the Division One League has also earned a call-up after banging in seven goals in six games this season in the Ghana Second Tier Football League.
The trio will join their colleagues in the Ghana Premier League who were also invited to begin preparation for next month’s Africa Cup qualifiers in Accra on Monday, February 15.
