The war of words between the president of the Ghana Football Association kwesi Nyantakyi and outgoing Youth and Sports minister Nii Lantey Vanderpuye continues unabated even when the latter is preparing to leave office as sector minister of Ghana.
Nyantakyi had previously likened the public demeanor of the sports minister to that of “a serial caller” on Ghanaian radio.
Last Sunday Honorable Isaac Asiamah -expected to be named Youth and Sports in the new NPP government – and Mustapha Hamid who is spokesperson for the president elect HE Akufo-Addo visited the Black Stars at Alisa Hotel before the team flew to the UAE to begin camping for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations but honorable Nii Lantey who was unaware of the arrangement expressed his unhappiness by hitting out at the GFA as he describe the act as “disrespectful” but Nyantakyi has replied Mr. Lantey with even a more damning jab.
Speaking to reporters at the extraordinary congress of the GFA on Wednesday at the Alisa Hotel, Nyantakyi claims Nii Lantey does not even know his work as sports minister for expressing such desolation.
” He himself (Nii Lantey) he’s forgotten that in 2007 or early 2008 when late Professor Mills not even a president elect then but a (presidential) candidate came to the GFA to make donation to the Black Stars, did he seek permission from the (sports) minister then? Professor Dominic Fobih was the (sports)minister then. He(late Professor Mills) didn’t seek any permission from him. It just sends a message across that probably he (Nii Lantey) doesn’t know his work. Excuse me to say that” Kwesi Nyantakyi told reporters on Wednesday at Alisa Hotel.
