The Director of newly promoted side, Accra Great Olympics has revealed that his outfit do not make money from player sales as other clubs do.
One of the major sources of funding for Ghanaian clubs is the sale of players to clubs outside Ghana. But the former Ghana Football Association vice president asserts that Olympics has enjoyed no money from player sales since the sale of Godwin Attram more than a decade ago.
“The last time we sold a player to a team outside the shores of Ghana is when we sold Godwin Attram a long time ago. Francis Coffie also went to Sudan on a $30,000 loan deal last year. Aside him we have made no money from the sale of players.
Training kits, jerseys, boots and other needs are funded by the little money from match days and largely from the coffers of we the executives”. The man known in the football circles as Papsey revealed.
