Ghana’s Black Satellites head coach, Abdul Karim Zito has denied ever taking monies from players, agents and player managers before making a national team call-up.
According to the 2020 CAF Youth Championship winner, he has never taken bribe as a national team coach to influence his call-ups.
Speaking on Oyerepa FM on Tuesday, the former Dreams FC coach denied those allegations of him making selections based on the monies he receive from players managers and agents.
“I have never in my national team coaching career taken any bribe from a player, player managers or any agent in other to invite their players to represent the country”, he said.
Zito also advised the public, football club managers, players, agents and player managers to report anyone who approaches them for money in exchange of their players being invited into the Ghana U-20 team to the police as he doesn’t indulge in those acts himself.
“I will urge everyone, that is the footballers, their agents and managers of players to report any individual who assures them and their clients of a national team call-up in exchange of money to the police for immediate actions to be taken as soon as possible because such monies doesn’t come to me”, he continued.
“I have never taken money or received any from any player agency and would urge anyone who has paid money to anyone in my name and hoping of a national team call-up for their players should go to the people or the person they paid said monies to because I am innocent and will never take bribe “, he added.
Karim Zito invited 35-players to begin camping ahead of the next year’s Africa Youth games and WAFU competition respectively.
