Nzema Kotoko striker Akese Akese says he picks inspiration from Ghana’s all-time lead to scorer Asamoah Gyan and would want to play like him.
Patrick Akesse, his real name, has been in the news lately after he scored a double hat-trick against Star Madrid in the Division one league ( Zone 2) matchday 13 on Sunday.
The 23-year old sharp-shooting striker, scored four goals plus two others from the spot as his side picked a deserving 3 points at the Azuleloana town Park.
“I am very excited to have scored the six goals in that game, I have never scored such number of goals in a match like that before, I have scored hat-tricks and braces in games but not a double hat-trick like I did against Star Madrid,” he told Hot FM.
” In Africa I have always loved the style of play of the General Captain of the Black Stars, Asamoah ” Baby jet ” Gyan, He is my role model and I want to play like him” he added
“I also love the style of play of Christiano Ronaldo when it comes to foreign players, I also want to play like him” He concluded.
Akese scored 7 goals and provided 5 assists during the NC Special tournament which helped him secure a call up to the National under-23 side Black Meteors that failed to qualify for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games at the U23 AFCON in Egypt.
The lethal striker has so far scored 8 goals this campaign after matchday 13 of the Division One League.
