Asante Kotoko head coach Prince Yaw Owusu has expressed strong confidence in his side ahead of their Ghana Premier League clash with FC Samartex, citing renewed morale following their recent result.
The Porcupine Warriors battled to a hard-fought draw against Aduana FC at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park last weekend, a result the coach believes has lifted the spirits within the squad.
“I think the draw against Aduana FC boosted our morale going into the game against FC Samartex,” Owusu told AKSC TV.
With attention now firmly on securing victory, the Kotoko boss revealed that the team has been intensifying work on their attacking play in training.
“We’ve done a lot in training. We are scoring more goals, and the boys are still working hard to improve,” he said. “We have some drills lined up, and I will prepare them well for the game ahead.”
Owusu also made a passionate appeal to supporters, urging them to turn up in numbers and rally behind the team during the holiday fixture.
“I’m asking the fans to come to the stadium. It’s Easter Monday, a holiday, so they should come and enjoy it with us,” he added.
The Ghana Premier League clash between Asante Kotoko and FC Samartex is scheduled for Monday, April 6, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, with kickoff set for 3:00 pm.
