Dreams FC forward John Antwi expressed his heartfelt apologies to Ghanaians in the wake of the team’s disappointing exit from the CAF Confederation Cup.

Despite returning from Egypt with a goalless draw in the first leg, hopes were high as the “Still Believe” lads entered the return leg in Kumasi with a slight advantage. However, their aspirations were shattered as they succumbed to a 3-0 defeat at the Baba Yara Stadium.

The journey had been arduous, with Dreams FC traversing various countries, from Conakry, Guinea, to Liberia, Tunisia, Angola, Nigeria, and finally Cairo, Egypt. Reflecting on the trials and tribulations endured along the way, Antwi expressed gratitude to the Almighty for guiding them thus far and acknowledged the invaluable support of the Dreams family, including the technical team, management, board, and all associated with the club.

In a heartfelt message, Antwi conveyed his appreciation to Kurt E. S. Okraku, the club’s leadership, expressing profound gratitude for their unwavering belief in the team. With tears in his eyes, he thanked Okraku for his guidance and prayed for God’s blessings, protection, and longevity for him. Antwi hinted at the prospect of sharing their remarkable journey someday, emphasizing that God reigns supreme in their lives.

Addressing the nation of Ghana, Antwi offered a sincere apology for the disappointing outcome, acknowledging the immense support and prayers received from the Ghanaian populace throughout the journey. He specifically mentioned the overwhelming backing witnessed during the encounter against Zamalek at the Baba Yara Stadium, underscoring the significance of the fans’ unwavering dedication.

Turning his attention to his fellow teammates, Antwi urged them to remain resolute and optimistic despite the setback. He commended their collective effort and camaraderie, hailing them as some of the best teammates he has had the privilege to play alongside. Antwi emphasized the importance of maintaining unity and love within the team, affirming his belief in a bright future ahead.
