Dutch-born Ghanaian defender Leeroy Owusu, has accepted to play for the Black Stars of Ghana.
Owusu, 23, who currently plays for De Graafschaap in Holland was born in Amsterdam and went through the youth system of Ajax before moving to De Graafschap in 2018.
Ghana Coach Kwasi Appiah,according to Ghanacrusder.com, had a dinner with Owusu in Amsterdam on Monday and made a request for him to switch allegiance to the country of his parents which he has agreed.
Owusu has previously played for the Dutch national Under 17, 18, 19 and 20 teams but he is yet to earn a senior team cap.
The versatile defender can also feature as a winger as well as a central midfielder and he is noted for his high work rate.
Both the GFA and the player are expected to write to FIFA soon for the nationality switch.
