Solomon Bonnah put in an energetic display for Vitesse but could not prevent the Dutch side from suffering a 3–1 defeat at GelreDome against Almere City FC.
The Dutch-Ghanaian right-back provided an excellent attacking contribution in the 41st minute, threading a precise pass to Adam Tahaui, who calmly finished to level the scores at 1–1 just before halftime. This moment briefly gave Vitesse hope after Julian Rijkhoff had opened the scoring for the visitors.
However, Vitesse struggled defensively after the break, as Almere’s speed and transitional play proved decisive. Ferdy Druijf restored the lead on 63 minutes with a finish from Boyd Reith’s cross, before adding a second goal in the 76th minute, assisted by Emanuel Poku, to seal a 3–1 away victory.
Bonnah, now with 16 league appearances and one assist this season in the 2025/26 Eerste Divisie, continues to impress in attack despite the team’s defensive lapses.
Vitesse will look to recover when they travel to face Roda JC Kerkrade on Monday, March 16, in their next league fixture.
